One event that happend to Laney is that she is poor. Another event is that she has three mean brothers, a mom that ran away and ,a dad. To me it sounds like she has a sereicly bad life. She must also feel realy sad for her mom leaving and being treated like a miad. She also sleeps in the atic. It must get cold at night.

For a simpel goal this year I am going to read more min.at home. This way I can get a good grade.Also I can understand my book better. I might just read extra min. at home if I have time. . This is a great goal. It will help your grade and make you a better student!
This year for an overall goal I am going to study at home a lot more. This way I can get good grades. Also when I get to Micdail I will understand some of the things we are doing. Last if I have do not have stuff to do I can do that.

The best part in my book so far is when the narater talks about Simon Grace. The reason why I liked this part is because it talks about animals. Also it says how much Simon likes animals.
I like animals just not as much as Simon. The reason why I say this is because he saved two rats " Not pet rats but rat rats" from rat traps and kept them as pets. He called them Jeffrey and Leomondrop.
The mom told Simon that it would be good if he did not bring the rats. He did anyway.
